What Is Grease? Where To Use? What Are The Benefits?

heading_title

What is grease? Grease is a type of oil to be used in machine parts and gears. The usage period of this oil type is very old. This oil is widely used in vehicle engines, freight vehicles, motorcycles and tractors. Apart from this, grease oil is widely used in the industrial market in general. This oil, which regulates the working system of the machines, provides less damage to the machines as it protects and prevents damage during friction.

What Is Grease? Where To Use?

Grease is an oil that has been used since ancient times. It is among the oil additives. Grease, which is used in oil additives, reaches its saturation point with heat and melts into a liquid state. Grease oil is used in mechanical parts. Grease contains mostly mineral oil and soap emulsion. The grease can be used at high temperatures, low temperatures or in areas where heavy loads are used. The grease to be used for vehicles supports the cleaning of mechanical parts. It extends the service maintenance time and allows the parts to work healthily and for a long time. Apart from this, it enables the use of less oil and supports the vehicle to run more stable. Thanks to the use of grease, abrasions are prevented. The parts become more compatible with each other.

Grease consists of the following three components:

 - Thickening agent 5% to 20%

 Base oils 80% to 95%

 - Additives 0% to 10%

Thickening agents such as soap and other ingredients have enormous power over oil performance.

What Are The Types Of Grease?

White Grease: It is used in medium cycles, normal loads, and flat beds when the operating temperature is not too high. In the automotive field, it is used for the lubrication of mechanical parts.

Lithium Bearing Grease: It is used for bearings with operating temperatures up to 135 degrees, in central lubrication systems and heavy load transportation. Bearing grease shows superior quality operation in cold weather. It prevents the parts from freezing.

Red Grease: Red grease is used for lubrication in the flat bearings of vehicles and factory machines. It is generally used in chassis applications.

Green Rubber Grease: It is formulated with high quality base oils and soap oils. Working temperature can rise up to 65 degrees.

Grease oil is a highly effective, achieving effective performance and it is important to use it for vehicles. It helps to provide a real cleaning in the area where it is used and ensures that the area to be used is protected from external factors (dust, friction damage, etc.) thanks to the proper lubrication.
